Weta Digital is a world leading visual effects company based in Wellington, New Zealand. We provide a full suite of digital production services for feature films and high end commercials, from concept design to cutting edge 3D animation.


Weta was formed in 1993 by a group of young New Zealand filmmakers including Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor and Jamie Selkirk. It later split into two specialised halves - Weta Digital (digital effects) and Weta Workshop (physical effects).


One of our first projects was to provide visual effects for Peter Jackson’s film Heavenly Creatures. We went on to work digital magic on Peter’s blockbuster movies The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong.


We also work with other Hollywood directors, providing digital effects for box office hits like I, Robot, X-Men: The Last Stand, and The Water Horse.


Weta Digital has been nominated for five visual effects Oscars® and won four.

Warner Bros. Animation Studios


Warner Bros. Animation Studios is the animation division of Warner Bros., a subsidiary of Time Warner. Walt Disney Animation Studios


Walt Disney Animation Studios is a key element of The Walt Disney Company, and the oldest existing animation studio in the world. The feature animation studio was an integrated part of Walt Disney Productions from 1934 the start of production on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, when during the corporate restructuring to create The Walt Disney Company, it officially became a subsidiary of the company under the name Walt Disney Feature Animation. Sony Pictures Animation


Sony Pictures Animation is a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, founded in 2002, which produces computer-animated films. Digital animation for their films is made by Sony Pictures ImageWorks. Sony Pictures Animation was created due to the success of ImageWorks' short animated film The Chubb Chubbs! Their first feature film, Open Season, was released on September 29, 2006. The SPA logo seen at the beginning of their films features original music composed by James Newton Howard.

Pixar Animation Studios


Pixar Animation Studios is a CGI animation production company based in Emeryville, California, United States. DreamWorks Animation SKG


DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. is an independent American animation studio which primarily produce a series of commercially successful computer animated films, including Shrek, Shark Tale, Madagascar, Over the Hedge, Bee Movie, Kung Fu Panda, and Monsters vs. Aliens. It was formed by the merger of the feature animation division of DreamWorks SKG and Pacific Data Images (PDI). Blur Studio is an Oscar nominated visual effects, animation and design studio based in Venice, California. Bird Studios (founded 2003) is a UK production company specializing in design, computer animation & visual effects for TV, film and the digital world. Animax Entertainment


Animax Entertainment is an Emmy Award winning animation and inter-active production studio based in Van Nuys, California. Animax's clients include Disney, ESPN, Warner Bros., National Geographic, Sesame Workshop, WWE and many others. Animax has a particular expertise in Adobe Flash animation and has produced work for broadband, broadcast, DVD, CD-ROM and other platforms.
