Pentamedia Graphics, Chennai is a subsidiary of computer software company Pentafour. It is best known for its animated 3D film using the “motion capture” technique, Sindbad: Beyond the Veils of the Mists. The company has created numerous animated features, both traditionally and computer-animated, and once employed as many as 2000 employees. However, in the past few years they have laid off all but 200. They have done work for Western studios (for example, for the 1999 Warner Bros. film The King and I). Pandavas: The Five Warriors received a regional award in India in 2000. Gulliver's Travels was released in Los Angeles and was shortlisted for an Oscar.
